I checked out bizrate.com but if I remember correctly, I think I may
have seen posts here or elsewhere where there online GPS stores that have better prices that don't end up on Bizrate. Anyone know of any retailers who have any good deals? Tbanks |

I got mine from Shipdog. Good service, good price.
But. After about 6 months my 76CSX started getting "lost". After contacting Garmin tech support, they advised I should send it back for repairs/replacement. Which they did, and it only cost me the shipping but took a little bit of time. And, If I had bought my 76 from the local REI store, they would have taken it back and given me a new one, right then. None of the fuss dealing with Garmin. Yes, it would have cost a little more to begin with, but the convenience of a good local merchant is worth the extra to me. When I got my Etrex Vista HCX, I bought it from REI. |

Except where I am, the local stores do a good job in raping people on these hand-held units, not so much on the popular in-car GPS models because they have a lot of turnover and demand. Even then, then, they tend to only offer a one month return/exchange policy and then you're stuck with shipping back to Garmin. I prefer not to buy online because I have had to send my other GPS units back to Garmin directly and I dont like paying the shipping and insurance et al. |

I have no connection to REI except as a member/customer. I have long
considered them to be a provider of quality merchandise although not the least expensive. That said, they have a return policy that sounds pretty good although I have never had to use it. http://www.rei.com/help/returns.html If I had to buy online or mail-order, I now think I would rather deal with someone like REI that provides a reasonable return policy. Even if it costs more. Ralph |

I hAVE HAd good luck with tvnav.com. They have good prices, but I can't
swear that they are the absolute lowest you can find on the web, it is a family run business and can give you good advice and customer service. Tbanks I bought both my GPS-V and subsequently my 76Cx from http://www.gpscentral.ca/products/garmin/76cx.htm I failed to find any lower price than their's, delivery surprised me with its speed and there service is excellent. While they are in Canada, they do ship to the U.S. Ted |

Amazon is currently selling the 76CSx for $250. My local REI store has it at $400. $150 is pretty steep insurance for a $250 item. For that difference in cost, I don't mind if I have to send a unit to Garmin. |
