Default GPS III - Nuvi data transfer

Broke down and bought a new unit to replace my old, trusted, GPS III.

Now, is there an easy way to move all the waypoints from a GPS III to A
Nuvi 760?

I've looked at Bobcat and can't see an import function that will grab
the old waypoint file from mapsource and push it out to the Nuvi.

Really don't want to enter them by hand.

Thanks in advance.

If you have a serial connection to your computer, you can download the
waypoints from the GPS-III to MapSource and then upload them to the nuvi
through a USB cable... The USB/Serial transfer change is in
Preferences)...

Thanks for the tip, but no joy. Have an _old_ version of mapsource that
doesn't recognise USB.

Jack,

Thanks for all the help.

The Garmin web site only has downloads for win 2000 or later. Kinda
tough when the machine is win 98. (My CD got damaged years ago and I
haven't been able to reinstall in a newer machine.) Too bad they don't
have an archive or legacy downloads area.

Finally got them moved with gpsbabel. Downloaded the file from the III
and converted it. Then pushed it out to the 760 with Bobcat on my Mac.

Now I'm dumping my road intersections since the 760 has a better road
database.
