Memory Map tracks... by
Marcus Fox
Running Memory Map Navigator 5 on a Mio P550 and PC running XP. I have a lot
of tracks that were recorded in Memory Map on the PDA over the past few
years, and my PDA maps are being cluttered up - I would like to save them
and view them **individually**. I have connected the PDA via ActiveSync and
ran the PC application, gone to PDA Import Data from PDA. All the tracks
are now displayed on my...

maps for TT 910 by
ME&YOU[_2_]
Are the new Central Europe v7.20 maps a big improvement on the old ones (for
GB)? What time span difference is there between the new and the old versions
(i.e. when were the old version maps compiled and when the new, does anyone
know?)
Is the GB map only an updated version? Don't really fancy paying 60 quid to
find little or no improvement

TT 910 by
Bystander
My TT 910 is a brilliant machine BUT, if I don't use it for a few weeks it
takes forever to lock on to a Sat, today it took 35 minutes, is this a
common problem.
I suppose the answer could be to switch it on an hour before I need it. Any
thoughts.

Morrisons Sat. Nav. £69 by
earlyrhubarb_earlytobed
David,
I don't know anything about the product but since there are so many available I'd go somewhere
where I could see, touch and discuss, having read up on them on the 'net.
Morrisons does good fish, but I reckon they're jumping on a bandwagon here with some cheapo
thing - I think there is something out of Eastern Europe recently which is basically crap.
ALSO - USE A FAKE EMAIL ADDRESS. Don't...

Morrisons Sat. Nav. £69 by
David
Its called My Guide satellite System, anyone anything about it?
Morrisons would only show me the main unit in a glass display cabinet. They
do not have boxes on display and would not allow me to see one. I wanted to
look at spec. if printed on box. Also what inside to see how mounted in car
or if it can, and how powered.
What sort of map quaulity and are upgrades/updates done?

Er, you can see both of my addresses? Um, that's worrying - I can't see anything in the various header
material I get in my app'.
What are the first three letters of them both please? Just so's I can see what you mean.
I'm missing something here!
I take your point about some providers.

How to get Windows Mobile on PDA by
Old Strebuggart
I've got a Mio 168 with integral GPS for walking but it has not got Windows
Mobile on it. I was told I can download this from Microsoft website and use
activesync to load it on to the machine. I can't see where this is available
on the website and if anyone can provide a link i would be grateful, also
any info on using activesync, as I'm not 'well up' on this sort of thing.
Once I have windows...

Hi,
Could anyone tell me how to turn off the 'gong' that sounds on my tomtom

Many thanks, Phil.

Hand held gps under trees. by
earlyrhubarb_earlytobed
Have you been given an accuracy requirement by your taskers?
Or a particular map with a scale to mark them on to?
I know that we often talk about hand held accuracies which are reckoned to be 5 - 15 m in lat long and worse in elevation.
However, in practice, on open moorland, I generally find that if I stray from the green dashed
line of a footpath on a 25k OS (Memory Map) my SIRF 111 Globalsat...

Trip logging in real-time to your own web page by
Kees
When you're on a trip you might want to log the trip by using a GPS. You can
use offline devices such as loggers but for the friends and family at home
it could be fun to use an online device to report yuor position directly to
a website. How does that work?
You use a device like the GMAX 1201 as tested on POI66.com recently.

TomTom tracklog by
Jeremy Parker
When I hook up my Tom-Tom Go to my computer I see that the Tom-Tom
has a file like Tom-Tom (F:)/statdata/triplog-2008-07-26.dat. I
assume that this contains a record of my last trip, or perhaps, a
record of the route the TomTom chose - I don't always follow the
advice of the lady in the box when she tells me to "turn around ...
when possible".
A quick look at this triplog file with...
