Just curious - last week on Tuesday my Garmin 765T went deaf for
satellites while in the middle of a journey. Powered it down at the end of the journey, left it a few hours and it was ok for the return trip. Curiously, later that evening I discovered that it had flattened its battery. Charged it up and copied the current.gpx to my laptop. The next day, it went deaf again shortly after starting a trip. Fiddled with the screen a bit, and then heard a click and it powered off. After that, nothing would wake it up, neither the power switch, the PC nor the charger. The day after that, I received an email from Garmin about a mandatory software update to correct an issue whose description exactly fitted the behaviour I had observed. So I concluded that there must have been many other people reporting similar problems. Unfortunately, having got to the comatose state, my unit has to be returned to Garmin for service.
