Default help!!

I have been given a binatone a430 as a present. when i put in a postcode it only finds the first 3 digits and wont find the address. do i need to update it or is it not working correctly. any help would be very much appreciated as i'm not very good with these things! thank you.

I do not know that device (and cannot be bothered to download the manual and
read it, even if it is available!). But some older/cheaper devices (such as
my 1st satnav program) do not have a full postcode database. Thus you enter
just the first few characters and then have to choose the street etc from a
list...

If reply address is (invalid), remove spurious "@"
and substitute "plus" for +.

if you are talking UK that should be enough
the first Letters give the Postal Sorting District eg, NG Nottingham, S
Sheffield, LE Leicester. the numbers next are the area within that
district which will give perhaps a town eg S50 =DumDumTown, The next
number is the location in that town which will perhaps be a street with
10 or so house etc in it. It should be no problem to find an office or
house on that street?
